I have a play station 3 and have recently purchased a flight simulator game called Heroes Over Europe. I’ve been playing it with the regular PS3 Controler. However, I have been getting mixed reviews on the playing experience that a joy stick provides. i know, pilots swear they pilot the car as much with the brakes and accelerator then w/ the steering wheel, but w/out the wheel, it simply doesn’t work, does it?
same for the flight simulator, certainly if you wish to make it as real as can be (which, w/ a war flight sim is maybe not your primary interest?) a stick is a whole difference.

It certainly does help, but it is also quite different to real flying. There are not many combat flight simulators which are very realistic and non combat flight sims arent quite the same. Microsoft Flight Simulator X is a really good one (get the Deluxe Edition if youre to get it and there are lots of expansion packs which make it better). Anyway it is definitely a good idea to practise on flight simulators because it will help you get used to it.
